omxplayer plays over HDMI but not alsa nor pulseaudio

Sat Nov 17, 2018 9:56 am

I am aware of this question

https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/q ... -not-aplay

But it does not solve my issue anyway. I can play videos and audio fine with omxplayer over HDMI but alsa does not report any audio device therefore pulseaudio does not have any available sink:

Code: Select all

$aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
$
How can I get alsa to recognize the HDMI output?

Try building a new SDCard with Raspbian 2018-11-13 or NOOBS 3.0.0 (which has a mass of updates for multimedia stuff).

I think the problem is solved in the latest update of the OS with Native VLC Supported
