Case for stacked hats

Scenario is, I have a pi3b+ topped with an official poe hat topped with a IQAudio DAC - it's used as a music player using Logitech media server - this all works beautifully. My problem is a case - where on earth can I get one ?

Cut cardboard/carboardbox to size?
A few holes for the cabkes as needed. Job done. Possible bly some air holes/slits at either side.
Add paint if you want to change the finish.


Or go fancy and find a MakerSpace and get making.


Though I will add, I would lower the POE hat to be closer and 'inside' the Pi, then mount the top hat further way from the PoE hat, less magnets and electromagnets, more room for the fan to work.
If I remember correctly it is designed to sit inside the Pi area.
You may be able to make it more compact, or the same with more air room

Hi there thanks for replying, I can't lower the POE as it has to sit on a GPIO extender / pass through to enable fitting of the DAC so I'm stuffed - unless you know another way ?

This is untested as I do not have a poehat, I do have sense hats though with similar passthroughs.
On your long pin header were there any spacers?
Mine all came with them (and a bugger to get off).
Not that you need them
I would see how far down you could put it and attach a normal extender header on top.
The spacers just give more support

Ignore me, I've just tried a SenseHAT upside down (the black connector is on the top on a SenseHAT).
And what I say is not going to work.


Get out the solding iron and fit a some new longer pins to the pi .

And on a look to see what the audio hat is.

I think you can buy spacers to suit and raise your the lid, you can with other pibow setups.
I would send them and email or tweet and see if they can sort something out or know if it would work.

Won't work with the poe hat , the standard cases will accomadate the poe but not the poe and a DAC

That's the IQaudIO DAQ case so will accommodate the DAQ. Or I at least hope it does what it's designed for.

I was then thinking buy the spacers for the middle.
But if they say it will not work, I'd assume it doesn't.
