4K videos on Rasp Pi 3 B+

Hi,

Will latest Rasp(3 B+) run 4K videos, from youtube and some players as example ?

The HW only supports up to 1080p60 (a tiny bit more with overclocking IIRC).

So for 4K you would need to use a SW decoder, which may or may not be able to handle 4K. I'm sure someone must have tried it, so will be better palced to comment on the SW decoder side.

But whichever way software codecs fall (most likely failure), the HDMI output is realistically limited to 1080P60 so you can't display the resulting frames at full resolution.
