raspbian stretch and second enviroment e17

hi i have a problem with my raspberry pi3 and start second enviroment e17 . I have a installed from repository official raspberry (raspbian stretch) this package from synaptic,but when i reboot it start only lxde of raspbian stretch. can you help me for start e17 on my rpi 3 ? many thanks and best regards.

hello although lightdm is installed when raspbian stretch reboot there is no indication to change enviroment. How to have this possibility? thank you

To boot to e17 directly you have to select e17 as default x-session-manager. To do this run this command

sudo update-alternatives --config x-session-manager

and select e17.
Then reboot.

hi many thanks for your help me, i have a insert your code in the terminal raspbian stretch,but e17 don't wiev in list. e17 is installed from official package raspbian stretch from synaptic program

It seems installing e17 package only provides the window manager, and not the session or desktop. So you can not start enlightenment session.

with your help me and insert code terminal i have a installed a new enviroment xfce 4. It's work perfect at reboot raspbian stretch and is view in list enviroment in the terminal
