Is CM3 best way to get stereo camera?

Tue Aug 21, 2018 2:27 am

I want to capture from 2 picamera simultanously and have the 2 images be as close together in time preferably less than 50ms apart.
I know that CM3 has 2 CSI ports so would this be the best way to go for what I'm trying to do? How does CM3 compare to something like a
Raspberry Pi camera multiplexer that you can buy from other vendors? (e.g. http://www.ivmech.com/magaza/en/develop ... exer-p-107)

Don't know how the multiplex will influence Performance.
As the CM3 offers two CSI Interface - and the GPU is able to handle both silumtaniously - I would opt for using CM3, rather than using multiplexer.
Multiplexer will also add cost/complexitivity to the carrier board.
