Hi,
I'm new to all these, so please have patience.
Not sure if the Raspbian forums is the correct location for my question - any pointers are welcome.
I have an Astrometa DVB T/T2/C tuner that would like to use on Raspbian. (https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Astrometa_DVB-T2)
This is a 2018 'model' which has the all known Realtek 2832 chipset, however, it doesn't have the also known Panasonic MN88473 demodulator, but a Sony CXD2837 one. From what I can see the Sony demodulator is supported by the kernel since version 4.14 however the Realtek driver hasn't been updated to reflect this (according to the same website above).
I tried patching the Realtek driver as per some online procedures I found...but no luck. I'm a windows person not a Linux one unfortunately.
Can someone please shed some light on how this process works? Who is in charge of upgrading the Realtek driver to include code for the sony chipset?
Thank you,
Daniel
