RollerCoaster Tycoon2 with OpenRCT2

Running on a RaspberryPi3B+ with latest Raspbian

Image with desktop based on Debian Stretch
Version:June 2018
Release date:2018-06-27
Kernel version:4.14

Download the sourcecode from

Install the required libraries

sudo apt-get install cmake libsdl2-dev libicu-dev pkg-config libjansson-dev libspeex-dev libspeexdsp-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libcrypto++-dev libfontconfig1-dev libfreetype6-dev libpng-dev libssl-dev libzip-dev -y

cd OpenRCT2-0.1.2

mkdir build

cd build

cmake ../ -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS="-Ofast -DNDEBUG -mcpu=cortex-a53"

when compilation finished (takes about 20 minutes)

make g2

copy g2 to build/data directory

To start the game cd into the build directory

./openrct2 --openrct-data-path=../data

On first run will ask for location of data files so you will need the original game cd or the demo.

Just point gui at directory the demo/game was unzipped to.

OpenRCT2 runs at 40fps with default 64mb gpu memory.

Also try Preferences>RaspberryPiConfiguration>SetResolution

and set to 800x600 or 1024x768.

This is absolutely amazing. But alas I am quite stupid, do you know if anyone has made a YouTube video on how to put rct2 on a pi?

I am getting the following error:
An RCT2 install directory must be specified! Please edit "game_path" in /home/pi/.config/OpenRCT2/config.ini.

Do I need a CD to play this on Raspberry Pi?
