Hi,
I have a raspberry pi 3B running Weewx 24/7. I have it connected through a EasyACC 20000mAH powerbank for UPS. The powerbank supports passthrough and does not glitch when mains are turned off. Most of the times everything works fine.
However every 25-30 days I get up to see that the pi has gone down. The scenario over the first 2 times was that power bank was completely drained overnight (No idea how a 20000mAH power bank can drain out overnight when it had all 4 LEDs on the previous night).
Today morning the scenario was that power bank had all lights on but the pi was off. I had to disconnect and connect the USB to pi to get it up again. Looks like for some reason the pi stopped drawing current from power bank for sometime and hence the powerbank cut off the supply to pi. The powerbank manual has this:
"... will automatically cut o its energy output
within 90 seconds if you disconnect your device(s) or
your device(s) has(have) been fully charged."
These issues are coming up very periodically every 25-30 days. Any idea what could be causing this? Is it that the pi is getting overloaded over long running times and hence behaving weirdly (drawing too much current or no current). I do see that others having pi for Weewx have had it up continuously for even longer times too like an year or more however.
Regards,
Praveen
