Using Raspbmc to burn Debian image

Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:41 pm

Hi all, I have a problem with Win32DiskImager where it won't recognize the SD card in the card reader. Windows Vista itself recognizes the card in Computer, but Win32DiskImager does not. It just doesn't show up in the drop down list.

It kind of recognizes it when I put the SD card in a USB card reader, but it doesn't burn it properly with 2 out of 3 cards I own.

However, the Raspbmc installer does recognize the card in the SD card slot and it burns the Raspbmc installer image for all three cards without any hassle.

I'm wondering if it's possible to get the Raspbmc installer to burn the Wheezy image? I see there are two image files in the Raspbmc folder:
installer.img.gz
mbr.img

Anyone know how to trick Raspbmc into burning the Wheezy image?

FYI I ended up using Roadkil's Disk Image and it worked perfectly:

If anyone is having problems with Win32DiskImager, I recommend this one instead.
