Webpage between pies

Thu Jun 14, 2018 8:12 pm

Is there a way a webpage can be shared between 3 pies. Without external network as the the information needs to be confidential

One possible interpretation:

You have (or wish to have) a webserver and 3 RPi systems acting as 'clients' able to browse that server and retrieve/display information it holds.

Perfectly possible - an 'external' (internet?) connection is not mandatory. (Although if permitted temporarily it may make setting up your solution easier.)

Is this part of your sample-tracking system?

Yes it is part of the sample tracking. Would prefer if it could be performed without external internet

One option is to set the 3 devices on their own subnet and configure the web server to respond only to those addresses. If you need external access to the web server device from outside for monitoring, admin, etc. configure your router to allow port forwarding to that specific internal address, specify the data port, can be different than :80, and there you go.

Ignoring for a moment any practical difficulties with installing software without an internet connection.

You will have a private, standalone, network with no internet connectivity.

On that network you will have a webserver holding the information you wish to share.,

On that network there will be 3 RPi systems capable of running webbrowsers, and thus able to access the webserver and retrieve/display information held on it.

This is all completely standard - nothing about the Raspberry Pi or Raspbian makes it any more or less acheivable.

What is the outstanding issue that you need help with?
