plex server & access point - connect to rasplex

hi guys,

have configured a raspberry pi 3b+ as a portable plex media server and access point with a static ip, all working well

trying to connect a second raspberry pi 3b which is set up as a rasplex client, so i can access my media on the server

not exactly sure how to do it, there are guides that say just plug in the server pi to the client pi via ethernet and it will all work,
but i do that and i get none of my libraries etc on the rasplex side.

any help appreciated. complete newbie here.

From a web browser on the wired network, do you see the server and can play contents?
From an app on a wifi device?

If the answer is yes your issue is on the client side (rasplex or OS config)
If the answer is no your issue is (at least) on the server side.
