Hi, i am not sure were to really ask, so i write right here.
I have a problem with connections between my remote control and raspberry pi system. I have been using R-Pi for 5 years now and never met such problem before. Recently i use it to play cartoons and songs to my kid. The Problem started a month ago when i took r-pi on our trip to Portugal. After we came back i have noticed that i have some problems with connectivity between r-pi and remote control. System loads normally, but i as soon as the system is fully loaded i can not do anything with remote control. It seems that r-pi system doesn't respond, and after while system goes to sleep mode. I have tried different possibilities, changed sd card, changed hdmi cable, change hard drive, switched system for newer. Is there some one that met some similar problems as me? I don't really know if i buy new r-pi it helps, or it is somewhere at my tv setting (i have suspicion that my kid switched something in settings, but i checked everything i guess and don't see anything special). I have Raspberry Pi 2, System OpenELEC 8.0 KODI 17.4, Samsung Smart TV UE37D6200. I can still use my usb slot in Tv to watch something, but after years of using RP2 i dont find it handy. Have you checked that the remote control handset (if that is what you use) is working? Does it need fresh batteries? Can you detect it transmitting if you view if with a smartphone camera?
Failing that, can you describe the interface between the remote control and your RPi in more detail? What technology/waveband does it use? Does (should) the RPi sense the RC directly, or is the signal picked up by the TV and relayed back to the RPi?

Yes i did change batteries. Remote Control is working well with other devices. I have a second virtual remote control on my android (met same problems).

No, RPi dosen't take RC directly - it goes by hdmi connection, and yes i have tried all slots. I am not sure for waveband. I tried as well to use hdmi connection between laptop and TV and everything goes well.
