Debian (RaspEX variant) on the Pi3B+

Mon May 21, 2018 7:27 am

I got my Pi3B+ recedntly and decided I would like to operate it as a Ubuntu type PC. After a bit of searching, I stumbled across the RaspEX OS (version 180328), recently upgraded for use on the Pi3B+. It is based on Debian Stretch (Debian 9), Bionic Beaver (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS) and Linaro (Open Source software for ARM SoCs).

Coming from Lubuntu, I found that there was a bit of learning for me to get RaspEX set up the way I wanted, but that is all part of learning more about Linux. With RaspEX installed on a 32GB Class 10 SD card, I now have most of it sorted out with LibreOffice, Keepass2, Veracrypt and my favorite crypto wallet installed and all operating successfully. I still have 23GB free to use on my SD card.

I am finding RaspEX a very fast Dabian/Ubuntu style OS for the Pi3B+. If interested, give it a go.

More about it at http://raspex.exton.se/?p=823 and it can be downloaded for free at https://sourceforge.net/projects/raspex ... p_redirect
