Access an external USB drive from a Windows 10 PC

Sun May 20, 2018 11:04 am

I have a Raspberry Pi running OpenELEC and KODI and I'm trying to access the externally attached USB WD drive I have connected to the Raspberry Pi from my Windows 10 PC. However I can't access it. It doesn't show up under Network on my Windows 10 PC and I've tried accessing it manually by going to \\192.168.1.102 (the IP address of my Raspberry Pi) from Windows Explorer but I keep getting an error message it's not accessible.

I have enabled Samba under System-OpenELEC-Services as well as the option to automatically share externally attached devices but yet I can't find my USB-attached WD drive from my Windows 10 PC.

What is weird is it has been working in the past and considering I haven't touched the OpenELEC config since I first set it up I'm wondering if it's maybe something related to recent Windows updates. Just speculating...

Any tips highly appreciated!
