I was gonna say this, so instead I'll say its also the world's most expensive POE hat
Well, I will have to disagree with you on that, when you count that this is the only PoE that will allow you to keep your current enclosure, plus the price deference is not that much, if you have a case for your Pi, good luck fitting the "official Hat" in it, or wait for months for a new case to come out
KanoMaster22 wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 12:20 pmThis kinda made me laugh. If it is the first then it would also be the smallest, largest, most expensive, least expensive etc. as someone else has pointed out.![]()
But that is not the case because there is already a POE hat for the pi out there for sale right now.
Please read the topic, POE 3B + PoE hat, the one you are linking here is not, another point is the one you linked looks like a PoE head not hatfruitoftheloom wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 12:40 pmhttps://coolcomponents.co.uk/products/p ... spberry-pi

Remember, the RPF makes no statements about future products. I see that all the time on this forum.
It follows, then, that if they do make a statement, it can be largely discounted. Since they never do.
If you see what I mean...
In any event, I certainly don't think you can make any assumptions about price.

I get what you mean but,
Really, well it covers most of the specs, and keep in mind, even the official hat, when it comes out will not fit the requirements above !DirkS wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 9:47 am[pedant]
It may be a hat, but strictly speaking you can't call it a HAT..

[/pedant]
No, really it doesn't.
It is somewhat presumptuous to suggest the smart, skilled and competent people at RPT and RPF don't know what they are doing and would call something a HAT when it does not comply with the HAT specification.
Listen, don’t put words in my mouth, if you don’t like the topic or the product ingnore it and save me your none sense, none productive comments, the world advances by helthy competition and productive discussions.
Edit: Not sure actually on the exact dates but this POE 'hat' definitely isn't the only oneKanoMaster22 wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 6:13 amJust to say for anyone who didnt believe me, here is the first POE Hat for the Pi 3B+ that is also cheaper!
