No, its not power supply.
Shielding didnt fix it, although it changed the failures slightly.
Falling back to an older Logitech wireless KBD/Mouse and wired receiver helped a bit, still no success.
Hanging the receiver on the end of a USB extension = Success.
After it wakes up and finally finds the mouse.
The problem is one of two things, but its not the KBD.
ITs the wireless USB receiver putting RF noise into the Pi, OR the data lines into the Pi not being buffered. They are direct from the port to the connector just ripe for damage due to ESD.
No bypass caps, no nothing.
I retract my earlier comments praising the large corporations that made this board, its trash.
But its NOT power supply problems, that is proven.
Its either RFI or a damaged IC3 inputs. Inputs to chips arent supposed to be left hanging into space like that...Thats just begging to destroy them from ESD.
Tried 33 pF caps across the data lines, no good.
Adding the USB hub distances the RF generating devices by some physical space and puts a small amount of capacitance and inductance on the USB data lines, probably dampening them, I dont know exactly what, and for this miserable $35 piece of crap, Im not going to waste any more valuable time.
Tried three new SDs, downloaded OS and verified SHA1 code, everything by the book
OS boot shows DMA6 errors at 19:xx after power on, intermittient.
The Pi is bleedin' garbage

While I do appreciate your experiments as you never know what comes out of it, I suggest you read the usb elephant thread. You will find others about the issue as well like the 8000 int/sec thread.
It will help you understand that the problems are more severe than you first thought.
