Xterm Fonts

Thu Apr 26, 2018 1:35 pm

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to set up an sdr with an ethernet connection from the Pi to a Linux pc. I'm almost there but I've hit a blockage with Xterm. It tells me "xterm: cannot load font '-misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso10646-1'"
Can anyone explain what that means (other than it can't load it, I managed that bit by myself :-)) and, if possible, where I can get this font and where to store it. I hope I'm on the last leg because I'm losing the will to live.

Many thanks

Is it really a blocker and not just a warning ?

Is the Xterm running/started on the Pi or the PC ?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I've trying to run an sdr on a Pi and connect, via my network, to QTRadio running under Linux. I don't know if it's a blocker or just a warning because but QTRadio will not connect, giving a connection refused error. It may just be that the dspserver on the Pi is "transmitting" on a diferent port to which QTRadio is listening but there's such a paucity of information about QTRadio that I can't find out what port it uses. I have actually found a solution to what I want to do so I may give up on QTRadio, I'm losing the will to live. :-)

Doh! I've just realised that I haven't answered tyour question about where xterm is running. There are two instances running, via ssh, on the Pi and one on the pc. The pc side seems to work in that it brings up an instance of QTRadio as it should. Thanks again.

I've decided to kick this into touch and try something else, I haven't got enough of my life left to waste it on it. Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
