Gertbot deceased?

Fri Apr 20, 2018 3:04 pm

Dug out my gertbot boards to use in a new project unfortunately they don't appear to be working.

Serial port is correctly configured, tried on multiple Pi boards (various generations) but always with the same result.

LEDs D5-D8 all lit, no hearbeat on D6 both the test gui and the firmware download app report "no boards found". Get the same results with a single board or with both cascaded from the same pi.

Anything I can do to revive them or are they really dead?

With no heartbeat they are dead. I have not seen this before.
Can you tell me how they where stored?
I still have lots of the first batch here and the are still working fine.
But then they are still in the original box in bag and EMC foam.

I have done a re-flashing service at shipping cost for somebody
who managed to run two gb_uploads at the same time.
(My SW protocol was not robust against that!)
But yours might be really, really dead.
Are the LED bright or just 'glowing' ?

LEDs seem to be bright gather than just glowing.

Might be ES damage as they weren't properly stored. Both in the same plastic box but no ESD bag or foam.
