Screen upside down

Thu Apr 05, 2018 5:55 pm

Why is it even that they design cases for the PI+7 inch screenshot, but the software makes the PI always upside down.
This is frustrating with apps like Berryboot, Raspbian(yes here you can rotate it manually but not if you run Raspbian via Berryboot), RetroPI.
Is there ever gonna come anything that turns it back to the correct position?

Berryboot doesn't give you access to config.txt? That's where you rotate the scree image adding the "lcd_rotate=2" line.

I really doubt that Berryboot has the ability to that as it would be a function of the binary blob that boots the VC4 as called from the Linux kernal. Berryboot wouldn't know anything about that.

The SDCard will have config.txt on /dev/mmcblk0p1 even with Berryboot. Mount that filesystem and you should be able to tweak the LCD rotate setting. Config.txt is read by the GPU before it launches the ARM running the Linux kernel.
