10 and 12 inch Raspberry Pi compatible screen?

Hi to all, I was looking for some help. I phoned into Raspberry Pi earlier today asking for help to specify a 10 inch and 12-inch compatible touchscreen I could use for a POS kiosk project I am working on. Unfortunately, they could not help me and advised they can only recommend their 7 inch screen (Strange there is no help at Raspberry Pi for this kind of enquiry that would help them sell more of their kit?)... Has anyone got any recent experience of using larger compatible screens please? (I work on opportunities requiring 10,12, 15 inch screens...), Thanks to all who reads this!

Welcome to the forums.

The 7" LCD screen is the only one designed by the RPF/RPT and the only one that can be connected to the DSI connector. There was once loose talk of a 10" screen, but that has never shown itself and the intent to develop one may have been dropped. (I agree that having a 10" RPF screen is something much to be desired, but the RPF appear to have other plans.)

You're probably going to have to find a screen that has an HDMI interface and a separate touch interface (if you need that). My experience with larger screens is all with monitors from 17" to 27" and no touch facilities.

It’s normal that the Raspberry organization themselves don’t recommend items they don’t manufacture because they can’t be sure that it will always stay compatible with future software & harware updates.

An example of this: the NOOBS SD-cards that some stores sell with the Pi 3B+ aren’t up-to-date and now the forum is full of people who think their RPi 3B+ is broken

I've found ModMyPi to be a reputable company so my expectation is that this display would work as described.

You may want to look at the ComfilePI, it's a complete touchscreen system based on the RPI Compute Module 3. I'm using their 10" model in a POS system.

Wow! 284bucks for a simple WXGA module! That's not a 'nice price' recommendation though!
