RPI Cam Web Interface via 3g

Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:11 am

Hello!

This project has been a long time coming and I'm very excited to be on the last leg of the journey.

Basically, what I want from this project is to be able to view a video stream from RPI Cam Web Interface from the raspberry pi connected on a huawei e303 dongle and control the servo motors attached to the raspberry pi.

Everything functions normally over WiFi on my home network, and now I'd like to be able to set up the raspberry pi somewhere, have it connect to 3g, stream the video over 3g to a computer that can connect to a network it creates and control the servo's from the web interface.

Please guide me to the correct documentation and/or protocol on how to set this up as I'm very excited to have this finally working.

Yes, a static IP is out of the question but I'm sure that this can be done. I'll add more to this posting with more information I find and respond to all that have something to contribute.

Thank you!

MORE INFORMATION

I'm using a raspberry pi 0 W connected via my home network's wifi and an huawei e303 3g dongle which I've confirmed has connectivity to the internet via the micro usb port on the pi.

The closest thing I've been able to find as a solution is something like viewtopic.php?t=55801 that where I can have the rpi0w either create a hosted apache server automagically on startup via internet connection sharing, maintain it's connection to the 3G network, and auto-reconnect to the server with an easy-to-remember IP generated by something like duckdns or noip.

Some clarification and direction would be nice & if there are any questions about what I'm attempting to accomplish then please ask if I am not being properly concise about my objective or my methodology.

Thanks

lol so with that link, I was way off and figured it out quickly and just ignored updating this post.

I've done some scripting as well, taking a lot from other sites so maybe I'll post a comprehensive solution here once I'm done if there's interest.
I have incredibly detailed, organized, and well-documented protocol that worked for me that most anyone could follow.

Bump for interest :?:
