wow, how expensive was this one, a SD card what can TALK??
what computer, what operating system, what program ? what you try to do?
is it a new card, or a used card / have already partitions on it ?
you can try to do hardware test and new formatting on that card,
like from a windows computer with card reader:
h2testw
sd formatter
and download a NOOBS, and unzip to the formatted card.
but for use with RASPBIAN image you just need to burn with https://etcher.io/ over ( no formatting needed )

Probably you have NOOBS on the card. The partition that Windows recognises is about 1.5 Gbyte.
