Help using broadcast commands

Wed Mar 14, 2018 11:10 pm

Hi,
When I go to use the GPIO pins is scratch I always see the tutorials say to broadcast GPIOseveron. This is the most elaboration I get but I can't find how to do this. I tried creating a message called GPIOserveron but that didn't work after broadcasting it. I can't find any other way that seems to make sense to do this. Please help. Thanks.

I'm assuming that you're using Scratch 1.4 on the Pi, as opposed to the newer Scratch 2.0.

'Broadcast gpioserveron' won't have any visible effects on its won. It just tells Scratch that you're using the broadcast commands to talk to the gpio pins.

If you want more detail, the original instructions for gpioserver are here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /README.md

Hope that helps.

This physical computing page from the parents guide gives you an complete example of how to control a gpio pi for output in scratch.

https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/pro ... -scratch/6

the following pages cover inputs as well.
