PI 2 ssh over usb not working

I have added ssh to boot and added dtoverlay=dwc2 and modules-load=dwc2,g_ether to cmdline.txt and config.txt but it is not showing up

What exactly do you mean by "not showing up"? Can you ping the RPi?

I assume the micro-SD card visible in the photo is not the one that should be in the RPi.

Looks like you're trying to use the Pi2 as a USB gadget.

All Pi models with more than one USB port can't be used in this way. The on board USB hub chip (that also provides the ethernet port) prevents it.

Only Pi models with one USB port (zero, zeroW, zeroWH, A, and A+) support this.
