Hey guys,
First post, so I apologize if I misplaced this topic on the forums. If I did, please direct me to the correct location where I could get it the right crowd.
To begin let me pose my question, explain a bit about my background, and I may touch up on why I am personally looking for help on this task.
Question: What are the parts necessary to build my own MagicMirror module, or app? I just got my pi in the other day, and I've successfully updated it. I installed MagicMirror, and played around with it a little bit updating the location of the 'demo' modules. I changed the RSS for the news updates to my own news source. Formatted correct time, etc. I've seen the other packaged modules you add on, but I am looking to program and implement my own. Both in the functionality within the system and develop a striking GUI/Display for them.
I think I understand I need to build some kind of HTML with a CSS file, or maybe a javascript file. (I don't really know, because I have not touched web development, which is where I think this will likely fall).
My experience is using MATLAB, building GUI's with OOP, and using MATLAB's computational abilities to solve complex problems. In the past I have also worked with Visual Studio, and Arduino (Using C#, and C++) to build my DIY projects.
I am comfortable with programming, so if it comes down to 'There is going to be a lot of steps' That's okay!
I am looking for someone who has already gone through what I am trying to do, and can point me down the right path.
Thanks guys. Looking forward to hearing what ya'll have to say.
