U4 is on the schematic at grid location 2-C: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... matics.pdf

The part number for U4 as shown on the schematic is: APX803-46SAG

Its purpose is to turn off the red power LED via Q1 when the supply voltage drops below 4.63V
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

That's the 2nd time in about a week somebody has asked about that part - Is there a soldering problem at the factory?

I think this happen because the part number on the chip is different from that in schematic
the part number on chip is "V36hB", while the part number in the schematic is "APX803-46SAG" .
there is no datasheet for "V36hB" and so if you can not access to schematic you can not understand what is "U4" and can not access to its datasheet

I made an assumption based on some previous posts (My bad!) where U4 had been knocked off the board.

Hello!

Since i have an issue with that smd component ( its loose ) i hijack this thread.
What would be the easiest replacement? Can i just remove it completely? Are there better or other quick options?

Welcome to the forums.

If you want the PWR LED to work correctly, you need this component to be there. See other comments in the thread for exactly what it is and what it does.
