Raspbian or Kali?

Fri Jan 26, 2018 9:47 am

Hello,

I've been using my pi 3 for a while now to learn programming mostly.
Things i like to do with my pi:
  • GIMP
  • RetroPie
  • Python
  • Apache + PHP (still learning)
Now while learning the whole website stuff i got quite interested in hacking.
I get from everywhere that Kali linux is by far the best OS for hacking, but i also like Raspbian very much for the support. So my question is, what should i go with? And how do i install everything?
I know Kali and Raspbian are both based on debian so every tool kali has can be installed on raspbian.
And yes i know and am willing to format my sd card.

to summarize, these are my questions:
  • Is kali linux without the tools the same as raspbian?
  • If not, is it better to dual boot, only have raspbian or only have Kali?
  • How do i dual boot kali and raspbian
Thanks for your help!

p.s. Sorry if i did anything wrong in this post/forum, I don't really post on forums so feel free to correct my facts, grammar, rulebreaking, etc.

If you have to ask the answer is Raspbian. It's better supported than Kali. I wouldn't bother with Kali until you know Linux and have used Raspbian for six months or more.
PINN is the best multi boot tool - It needs a 16GB SDCard or bigger viewtopic.php?t=142574

I don't know, because I've never used either. If I want to boot a new OS in my RPi I get an alternative SDCard out of my collection.
