Where to start

Tue Jan 23, 2018 2:27 am

I'm looking for a good starter kit and a sensor starter kit that would have everything that I need. I see a lot of options out there but I wanted to check in here to see if there are any consistent recommendations.

All you really "need" is a handfull of LED's, resistors, switches and some wire. A breadboard is optional, but good to have. Then figure out where your interests lie and buy motors/servo's (if you are leaning to robotics) or moisture/temp sensors (if you are more into gardening). If you are new to electronics, a good multi-meter and soldering pencil may be a better investment than a spendy (overpriced) starter kit. Last but probably most important: a GOOD PSU. Adafruit has lots of guides/Howto's/ideas if you need inspiration... ;-)

Thinking a little more: a USB card reader/writer and at least 1 spare uSD card are really nice to have on-hand.
