4 - 5 months and still no Pi?

Thu Oct 18, 2012 10:03 am

Hi there

I have lost the original receipt for my order... i have been waiting almost 4 - 5 months for my order to arrive in the UK. I still haven't heard a thing. The last email i had was a despatch note then i read something about it being delayed but this was over 2 months ago.

How can i find out what is happening to my order? I've emailed via the contact page but had nothing for 2 weeks!

Cancel the order with RS and order with CPC or Farnell.

OK, you need to ring RS components to find out what has happened to the order. Email doesn't appear to work very well in these circumstances, presumably since they must get so much mail. It much more difficult to ignore a phone call.

I ordered a couple of days after you - July 2nd in fact.
Mine is due for delivery between 12th and 18th of November.
Not sure if this helps or not.

Good luck with any dealing with RS though, there are very few positive tales regarding them and PI's as far as I can tell :(

I was tempted to cancel, but was put off by some posts on here and elsewhere regarding getting refunds from RS.

It's your call here obviously, but in my case I'm too lazy to argue with them so will wait it out. They won't get any repeat custom from me though.

It looks like we've dispatched the majority of the order, including your Raspberry Pi, but not the power lead which will be following shortly, no real details on why but when we find out we'll post back :)

Having more than one isn't a bad thing. You can devote one to a permanent task (XBMC etc) and one for development/experimentation.
