Camera detection issue

Fri Jan 19, 2018 1:49 am

Hi All,

I recently had my a camera installed on my Pi3 - Everything working 100%.....until last night....

The camera just stopped working! i.e rapistill throws up a message about cannot being able to detect the camera. Google tells me that i need to run raspi-config and turn the camera on, but all of this is already done because it was working day before last.

I thought I must have bricked the camera.....but then...

I plugged it into my Pi1 - And it worked?! - So now I am thinking a driver or software related issue has stuffed up the camera. So I wiped the SD card and reinstalled Raspian. This did not fix the problem.

So I have a camera that doesnt work on a fresh install that works on my Pi1, my only conclusion is that the socket on the pie for the camera ribbon is stuffed.....Is this a fair and logical conclusion?

I am so sad that my project has been wrecked randomly like this. Thanks all for your help I really appreciate it.

What is the output of "vcgencmd get_camera" on your Pi3?
