Recommendation For A Screen

Fri Jan 12, 2018 2:08 pm

Hi Everyone,
I'm doing project with the raspberry pi (I work with the raspbian from noobs) and for the project I ordered a touch screen from company that name "Waveshare".
The screen doesn't work well with the noobs so I need a recommendation for a HDMI 5" touch screen the perfectly fit for the noobs system.
Thanks,
Shaked.

Unless there is some particular feature of NOOBS you actually need (such as switching OSes), then you'd be better off to write a direct image file to your SD card and not use NOOBS at all. As for screens, the only one that I would expect to work "out of the box" is the RPF 7" touch screen that connects to a Pi through the DSI connector. Support for that screen is "baked in" to the binary blob that boots the VC4.

I tend to use this 5" for straight plug and play. It runs the screen of standard HDMI port and RPi should auto detect it using a NOOBS install then the touch part works like a standard plug and play USB mouse and again the RPi should auto detect it for plug and play. :)

I already write my all project software that include fingerprint protocol and graphical algorithm so I need the screen for noobs...
