Windows for IOT sucks!

Hi, I'm using Rspi 3 model B, and windows for iot build 16299.
I find out a bug in all Win IOTs! When you unplug rspi from power (accidentally or not) a couple times(or sometimes one time) Windows couldn't boot up and you have to install windows again!
It's very sucks that's an OS work like that.

You should report any issues to Microsoft themselves.

Although pulling the power without warning isn't a great way to shut any sort of device like this down.

Is your problem the same I reported couple days ago? (SD Card corrupted after each reboot / unplug)

My issue seems to be resolved (for now). I think it was a problem with the wiring of the touchscreen, but I'm not sure.

However to fix it temporarily (without reinstalling) I just needed to insert the microSD card in my windows 10 computer and let it detect drives. Then re-insert the sdcard in my Pi3 and it was booting fine after.

But I agree that this unstability is getting me nervous. I'm developping an application for customers that will plug and unplug the device frequently.

By the way, calling the Shutdown method in UWP wasn't helping my issue

I really don't know when my device is off(shudown)!
I know how can I shutdown device, but It's unusual for an Os after power off, that Os couldn't boot up!

UWP is only thing I used Windows 10 Iot, now I want to switch to Raspbian.

Maybe try :
- with another SD Card
- another power supply
- Is there a touchscreen attached to the device? How is it wired?

I wonder "device like" what?

It's says "IoT" on the Windows for IoT box. Presumably one can expect Internet of Things devices to be powered down at random and survive.

Lol we're simply discussing a product that runs on Raspberry Pi, in the Win 10 IoT section of this forum. I'm aware of the existence of Microsoft forums. What's your problem?

The problem is the Raspberry Pi have nothing whatsoever to do with Microsofts port of IWn10IoT to the Raspberry Pi.

So the best place to ask for help in WinIoT is Microsoft.

Because the Raspberry Pi is not protected against unexpected shutdowns in the same way as a custom made IoT device.

It's advertised as "IoT". It is not suitable for IoT. They mislead us. True then, true today.

Microsoft, AFAICR, advertised WIn10IoT for Raspberry Pi as a protoyping system, for which it is quite well suited.

I don't use Win10IOT so I don't have a problem...
