Upgrading the 256mb Pi to the 512mb version

Tue Oct 16, 2012 2:39 am

If I may ask,
I only received my 256mb Pi a couple of weeks ago and have done quite a lot of work on the current OS. So if I were to get the 512 version now, what must be done in order to transfer the OS to the newer board if at all possible? Also, will the transferred OS be able to utilize all of the additional RAM? Surely it's not as simple as just swapping the SD cards like any other identical model, right?

You need to rename the file on the SD card to get it to work
