pi3 loses wifi connection when idle

I recently replaced my Pi2 with a Pi3. Built in wi-fi! Yay? Anyway, if the Pi sits idle for more then about ten minutes, it drops the wi-fi connection. If I set something to download, I have to stay with it and keep actively doing things or obviously with the constant wi-fi drop, said file never downloads.

I'm running Stretch and I think everything is within a week of being up to date.

The pi goes in sleep mode after a while. Try this:

Turns out my connection problem was my ISP - after intermittent issues (that no one told me they were having) on other devices, internet was down for all Hughesnet Gen5 customers for 11 hours...

They fixed their satellite; my issue went away.
