Fixing missing taskbar on Stretch X86 image

Thu Dec 21, 2017 9:02 pm

Hi,
I have installed Stretch onto a Packard Bell Easynote laptop and had the problem of no task bar which I notice also happened on the previous release.

I restarted LXDE as per one of the suggestions on the obsolete post and after some comments about WLAN0 not being associated there was a final line stating
"Floating point error"

I edited ~/.config/lxpanel/LXDE-pi/panels/panel and removed the Battery monitor and this has solved the problem.

Do I need to raise this as an issue on github?

If so ,where?

cheers
Steve

I did not have to make that modification when I installed Stretch on my Dell Inspiron laptop. It works with battery monitor in place.
On the Jessie image I did have to do that fix.
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

If this is still a problem, it should be reported here:
