Rasberry PI as a MIDI interface over WiFi or Bluetooth.

Tue Oct 03, 2017 2:37 pm

I wonder if this is possible ..
I have a number of midi keyboards
Some older ones connect over serial MIDI cables and a later one over USB

Midi software on my PC such as Anvil Studio and LMMS connect to the Keyboards and play MIDI etc.
They usually allow you to select the keyboard and must use some form of windows lookup/driver to use them.

Some keyboards are big and not near the PC.

My idea was to have a Raspberry PI on the keyboard connected via whatever it uses , old serial MIDI or new USB MIDI.
And then the PC could connect over WiFi or perhaps Bluetooth.

Does this sound possible and maybe useful ?
Comments please.
Thanks
Jim
