Slow RDP display under stretch

Mon Oct 02, 2017 2:33 pm

I run my Pi's on a LAN headless from a windows 10 pc using RDP which I prefer to various flavours of vnc. I recently upgraded a RPI3 to stretch from jessie but have found the speed of display is significantly (and painfully) slower than I used to achieve under jessie.

Is this a common experience or are there any steps I can take to improve this (apart from reverting to jessie)?

RDP and similar software conflict with RealVNC, many posts in these forums....

Therefore have you removed / purged RealVNC which is nowadays included with Raspbian with Desktop OS.

I removed realVNC when I was running under jessie and havn't reinstalled it when upgrading to stretch

$ sudo apt-get remove realvnc
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package realvnc

so i'm afraid it must be another problem
