registering mpeg and vc-1 codecs

hi guys i have purchased both codecs and put the hex keys in the config file on the sd card but cant get the mpeg files to play is there any way to check if i have done it right? or check the codecs? thanks

Try "vcgencmd codec_enabled" from here:

thanks for the reply i have checked and the codec is disabled so looks like i got the wrong licence the serial number that i supplied is correct so i think they have sent me the wrong 1
