Greetings.
I have looked around on the forum here for posts regarding the Raspberry Pi3 mod b Wi-Fi problems but I don't seem to see specifically that troubleshoot string anywhere. Maybe I could begin a threat for this.
I received my Pi3 Mod B yesterday and everything seemed to work fine until I got to trying to connect to my Wi-Fi. I have two routers with Wi-Fi in the same room as where I powered up the Raspberry Pi. I click on the icon at the top right, it soon discovers both routers, however, entering the WEP PSK doesn't cause the wlan0 to pick up an IP. I'll add that I have an iPad Pro and an iPhone that have no trouble connecting.
I connected the hard line ethernet and booted into the web browser just fine. I did the apt-get update, apt-get upgrade and rebooted, but no change
I saw where the system HAD created a proper /etc/wp_supplicant/wp_supplicant.conf file and this was just fine.
In all cases, doing an ipconfig shows wlan0 information but no ip address.
For the record I'm using an ActionTec modem and have rebooted it a couple of times.
Now I did hear there was a possible bad hardware in the RBP 3 Mod B, but it seems to manifest itself as not being able to even discover the Wi-Fi devices. Mine does that just fine, but won't connect.
Any helpful hints would be fine, please remember this is NOT the version with the wi-fi dongle. This is the Raspberry Pi3 Mod B loaded with Raspberry Jessie with updates/upgrades.
Thank you for your help in advance.
