RPi shuts down by it self

Fri Oct 05, 2012 3:43 pm

My RPi shuts down by it self after a few minutes of running. All lights exept PMR turnes of and the signal (HDMI, SSH, etc.) is lost.

I have tried different SD cards and different OS's. I have also tried the same SD and OS combinations with another RPi, where it runs perfectly.

I think it's a hardware error, but what do you think and how do I fix it?

Best from Niels

Does your fuse (F3, on the back of the board, near the power input) gets hot?
If it does, give it a few days to recover from being blown, and then try again.

Can you isolate the fault? Try without screen attached etc. The fault could be with the Pi, power supply, or other connected device.

Have a decent mutlimeter? you could check the polyfuse with a ohm meter.

Also monitoring your pis voltage could be a good started (via TP1 / TP2 )

Check out PSU output while your at it :)
