Excellent - I like that. I'd like about four of them side by side to make a big display.

the one I used was 4 quid off ebay with 5 quid delivery, not *too* bad. Haven't looked into how you'd drive more than one yet..

Yep now the LOL shield can ruin the Gert board instead of ruining your arduino.
Have you seen the schematic? It has no resistors in line with the LEDs so it over loads the output pins of the processor.
