No GUI Dialog - Set Keyboard / Localisation / Raspberry Pi Configuration

Fri Aug 18, 2017 2:51 am

Clicking the Set Keyboard button in the Localisation tab in the Raspberry Pi Configuration dialog does nothing in Raspbian Stretch with Desktop (2017-08-16). This is on a Raspberry Pi 3. Previous versions of Raspbian worked without any issues. It seems to be a regression. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

As a workaround, use raspi-config from the command line in a Terminal window.

I'm in the U.S. and wanted to change to a U.S. keyboard layout, which I was able to do from the command line but would prefer to use a GUI for convenience.

Thank you! Now we know two workarounds and that a bug fix is on the way. :)

The keyboard setting issue has been fixed.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Go here for my RPi writeup. Basic config, Serial Port add-on etc:

I had done an apt-get update and upgrade and still had the issue. Just did them again and its working now. Which is weird because it said 0 installed, 0 upgraded etc. :?

Same over here. Luckily, the separate menu item for keyboard and mouse settings works and brings up the keyboard selector.

Did anyone at Raspbian test this release?
From ZX81 to Raspberry Pi, but wait ... where's the 7805 gone?

Return to “Raspbian”
