Raspberry Pi Desktop x86, will it work well on a 64-bit PC?

Thu Aug 17, 2017 6:35 pm

Will the desktop live CD for the Raspbian Desktop (from MagPi #60) work well with a computer that is capable of running 64bit operating systems? If so will the performance be OK?

Thank for your help!! :D :) :)

Yes. Unless it's very broken somehow.

It's very common to run 32 bit operating systems on 64 bit machines. Win and Linux.
Memory in C++ is a leaky abstraction .

I think I was told that a 32bit application can not access more than 4gb memory, by the Kerbel Space Program.

So if you want to play some game like that, it would be better to go 64 bits.
