monitor Multiscan 15 sx can it fit?

Tue Oct 02, 2012 4:21 pm

I have an old Multiscan 15 sx or model CPD-15SX1.

at the back there is a 8 pin mini-DIN.

do you think i can use that connection for plugging the video RCA cable from a Pi Raspberry using an adapter <8 pin mini-DIN> to <yellow RCA>?

or am I missing something?

I have downloaded and read the manual for this monitor, but it is a standard VGA monitor, and doesn't mention any DIN connector at all.
Maybe its an aftermarket modification?

VGA monitors, as a rule, cannot be simply connected to a composite video source.

Some really ancient VGA monitors (all CRT) used a non standard plug on the monitor itself and it was supplied with a propriety lead that terminated in a standard 15 Pin plug. They are pretty useless without the lead.

I enclose a photo of the back of the monitor if it can be o any help .... to the historians!

last night I used a <8 pin mini-DIN> to <yellow RCA> one piece adaptor that I found in a small plastic bag (I can not remember where it came from) connected the Pi but did not seem to interact with the monitor, then I connected the RCA-->RCA cable to my TV and functioned properly.

thanks for sharing your thought with me and the time you spend on my matter.
