Best operating system, for a remote computer, and programs other than team viewer that you can use in the Raspberry PI 3

Hi, I just bought my raspberry, was investigating the best way to control the temperature, that way the temperature stays stable making that point clear, I would like to know which is the best operating system to use raspberry only to control a computer remotely , Also, I would like to know what options I have apart from team viewer, but making it clear that the optional programs have all the functions of team viewer thanks.

Your point is not made at all clearly at all.

What is it you actually want to do? It seems to involve controlling the temperature of something. What? How? What has team viewer got to do with all this?

Anyway, the best OS to use on the Pi is Raspbian.

Remote access can be arranged in many ways. From SSH to a web server. Some variety of VNC is also popular. It's difficult to advise if you don't say what features of team viewer you may need.
Memory in C++ is a leaky abstraction .

To control the remote Pi, to influence its temperature function, something like a web server or MQTT service may be appropriate.

For accessing the Pi's operating system, to keep it up to date etc, you could use Telnet, SSH, VNC, XRDP or similar.

I would also suggest Raspbian as probably the best choice to start with but any Pi Linux may do, Windows IoT and AndroidThings may be suitable, resin.io and the like may be more appropriate.

Raspian Desktop (not lite) has RealVNC pre-installed. RealVNC will allow you complete control (except sound) of the RPi from a remote Windows/Mac/Linux system.
The RealVNC viewer for the remote system can be found here: https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/download/viewer/
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.
