Running SteamCMD on the rpi3 JUST to download games

Fri Aug 04, 2017 7:11 am

so, here's why I am making this question:

During this week I have stumbled upon x86 emulation on ARM and I was wondering about it being possible on a rpi3 model b.
I am asking about the possibilities of emulating steam CMD to download steam games because I think it would be interesting just to see how well it performes and I am not planning to play those games on the Raspberry, I'll only download them
I do not need to know about what commands I should use on steamCMD, I'd just like to know if there is a method for instaling it on my raspberry.

Also please do not come here to suggest Exagear, I have already had my fill with that program and I honestly think we don't really need any more threads filled with it. I want to see if there is actually a way to do this without paying for software.

Go and buy a SBC/laptop/desktop that's Intel X86_64 based and can run full fat Windows. What you're trying to do is impossible on a Raspberry.

Better just buy any Windows powered PC (that support SteamCMD), better luck with that.

Start at https://eltechs.com/run-wine-on-raspberry-pi/

realize it is probably better to

Have fun it's Pi ;)
The OP has already tried and failed with Eltechs Exagear..

WINE requires a x86 CPU Architecture machine, and there is already a x86 (i386) SteamCMD Client. Posting 30 month old obsolete information does not help.

The only option is to buy a different product or find an alternative to SteamCMD...
Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot)..
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...
