Camera zoom control from keyboard

Fri Jul 14, 2017 9:36 am

I need to start with 100% preview, then select each of several zoomed preview areas, possibly taking stills on the way. Have tried using pygame, but don't understand how to change zoom.

What camera? Pi Camera?
Which application do you use to access the camera?

Doesn't "zoom" mean changing the focal length of the lens?

And doesn't the lens on an RPF camera module have a fixed focal length and fixed point of focus?

If I am right there is not going to be a software solution to your requirement.

I'm looking for a solution using the camera object's 'zoom' property!

Have to ask again: which software?

I'm currently trying with a pi camera and python3 - but neither is cast in stone!
