Possible to use omxplayer to stream from twitch.tv?

Hi I've been struggling to get streaming to work from Twitch.tv or own3d.tv on the raspberry pi. My goal is to connect the pi to the tv and stream the League Of Legends World Championship for a party. I'm new to linux and I got the stream working with vlc player but then quickly discovered the limits of the ARM 700MHz processor as it could not keep up with the decoding. I know nothing omxplayer and I was wondering if it's possible to use it with rtmp streams, specifically twitch.tv
