Stuttering Video

Thu Jun 15, 2017 8:35 am

I have a installed Raspbian OS and also upgraded it to its latest image. But the video playback is not good. 1080p files keep stuttering a lot. I use a UHS-I [3] mSDHC card. How to improve the video playback. Is it something to do with GPU setting? If so plz advice on the same.

What are you using to play videos?
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

VLC has no hardware acceleration by default.

Use omxplayer(GUI) or kodi (enable HW accleretion in kodi settings) and set the GPU memory to 128 MB (or to at least 160 MB, if you use kodi).
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer
