Openelec filesystem corruption

Wed Jun 14, 2017 12:46 pm

When I turn on my Raspberry Pi 2 Model B I get the following error message:

Filesystem corruption has been detected

Could someone please tell me the best way to re-install OpenELEC. I can still reboot into raspbian and I'm hoping that means I don't have to reformat the sd card and lose the other software that I have installed.

Thanks in advance...

Your only option is a new SDCard. You can't replace individual parts of a NOOBS system without trashing the whole NOOBS set-up.

Is it possible to just format the sd card (using, for example, the SDformatter utility in Windows) rather than buy a new one?

Yes, but using that method would lose your existing Raspbian installation. By installing on a new card you would be able to copy your work from the old Raspbian to the new one - and then you would have a spare card to use for making backups.
